There is an emergent economic sanctions campaign being pursued at the national level to achieve maximum participation and impact. It is called the WEconomic Boycott (“WEBO”) and it is intended to retaliate against the Trump administration’s assault on democracy. The WEBO is rooted in the well-understood knowledge that the Trump regime responds to economic and market signals more than rallies and other “cinematic” protests. The vision and missions of WEBO are:

Vision: A sustained economic boycott that targets and punishes publicly traded corporations and their billionaire leaders who have demonstrated complicity and compliance with and support of the Trump administration.

Mission: Create a playbook for applying sustained economic pressure on targeted corporations and their leaders to motivate them to alter their behaviors and corporate policies (e.g., financial support of Trump and his administration, suppression of free speech, DEI policies, complicity with anti-democratic policies of the Trump administration, etc.). Collaborate with leadership of national resistance organizations to implement a national economic boycott before the November midterm elections.

📣
The founders of WEBO are seeking endorsements of the initiative from local and regional resistance organizations that will be presented to leaders of national resistance organizations along with strong encouragement that they prioritize the WEBO and allocate resources to making it happen.
